Obwaagazi Family Sponsorship Program
Collins
Collins lives with his mom, younger brother and baby sister in Danida, Uganda. They rent a temporary house with a dirt floor which has a shared latrine and no running water or electricity. To get water they have to travel 15 meters and the family doesn’t have access to safe drinking water.
Collins’ mother works at Obwaagazi as a teaching assistant and she was one of the first mothers to ever believe in Obwaagazi and enroll her son. This is the only job she has ever had and unfortunately most of her income has to be spent on rent and the medicine that Collins has to take to reduce his seizures. Due to this she has a hard time getting enough money for food and she struggles to provide daily meals for her family. She also has trouble affording the school fees for Collins’ younger brother.
Mama Collins is such a hard worker and always loves every child that she works with as her own.
