Obwaagazi Family Sponsorship Program
Sophie lives at home with her dad and sister in Walukuba, Uganda. They rent a room in a permanent house with a cemented floor. The room has no electricity, running water or latrine. To use the latrine behind their house they have to pay, and they have to travel one mile for water and boil it to make it safe to drink.
Sophie’s dad is a Boda (motorcycle) driver and he takes care of Sophie by himself without any support.
When Sophie first started school she stayed close by at Imprint Hope with her mother. Her mother then got a job in the village where she was from and left Sophie to work. Her father heard about this and returned to Walukuba so that he could take care of her himself. He does a wonderful job and we are so grateful he returned!
